FitChap exists to make people believe the real purpose of fitness and making it more than a new year resolution. We need people to look at staying fit as a part of their lifestyle as opposed to something they blindly follow. Right now, some want to work out because everyone else is and that’s why the majority get on the fitness journey.
Being an asthma patient back when I was only 10, I chose fitness as a mode of recovery and to nurture self confidence. I didn’t spend my days lifting, I started off with boxing and martial arts and trained under the guidance of Master Renil Fernando, who is a well-known Martial Arts Teacher in Sri Lanka. I remember him saying, “you have to become a challenge to your own self.” Those words shaped my vision of the fitness industry and I’m here to help people believe in fitness for the right reasons and champion being a fellow FitChap.
